In-Person & Remote | Grades 3–6

1. “I AM AN ARTIST” — or — “HOW TO TURN A BAD DAY INTO THE BEST DAY” (Interactive Creativity-Building Author Visit)

A themed, creativity-packed author visit that inspires confidence, collaboration, and imagination while teaching social-emotional skills. Students draw, create, and set personal goals — all in a hands-on, memorable experience.

Duration: ~45 min

Audience: Classroom or back-to-back multi-grade sessions

Includes:

  • Author reading

  • Q&A and discussion

  • Interactive engagement to encourage creativity and goal-setting

Outcome:

Students feel inspired, connected to storytelling, and more confident expressing themselves, leaving with an actionable takeaway

2. “MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY” Creative Confidence Lab (Author Visit + SEL Workshop)

A deeper, combined experience of an engaging author visit and interactive workshop where students envision themselves as the hero of their own story and build their own SEL toolkit through storytelling, brainstorming, visual expression, and actionable goals.

Duration: ~60-75 min

Audience: Classroom or back-to-back multi-grade sessions

Includes:

  • Author reading

  • Q&A and discussion

  • Movement break

  • Interactive, creativity-based workshop with SEL integration and goal setting

  • Printable “Main Character Toolkit” Packet

Outcome:

Students grow their own personalized “Main Character Toolkit”, connect creative idea generation to problem-solving, and cultivate positive peer engagement.

  • Maximum classroom size: 20-25 students (additional pricing for multiple classrooms)

  • Sessions can be customized for bookstores, library events, or school assemblies

  • All offerings are available remote. In-person workshops currently offered only in the Los Angeles area

< What makes Tina’s workshops unique >

Along with being a children’s author, Tina has an MA in Clinical Psychology & an MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults. She has over a decade of experience across the mental health field, including art group facilitation and executive function coaching.

Her workshops are designed to bridge storytelling, art, and social-emotional learning to create engaging experiences and tangible tools that support both creativity and student development. Some examples of the integrated SEL strategies are:
